Plastic tiles

Plastic tiles

Plastic tiles? Yes, because they meet almost every need!

The use of plastic covering panels, including plastic tiles, is increasingly growing in the residential market. This is thanks to the raw material used in manufacturing, the long lifespan the material provides, and its aesthetic fit within interior spaces. On top of that, a strong argument in favour of plastic tiles' popularity is how simple they are to install. It is a convenient solution for anyone who enjoys DIY at home, since the covering can be carried out without involving a professional. And there is one more argument in favour of plastic tiles: they can be mounted on both walls and ceilings.

Advantages of plastic tiles

The advantages of plastic tiles in brief

Below we have put together a short summary of all the advantages that plastic tiles offer. Naturally the summary was not compiled with the aim of being exhaustive, but we tried to take into account the perspective of the average user.

  • ✓

    100% tile or wood-covering effect

  • ✓

    Easy to vary, extendable

  • ✓

    Easy to keep clean

It also holds up relatively well against chemically active substances.

  • ✓

    Long lifespan

It does not crack, rot or corrode. The build-up of steam and high humidity promotes the appearance of fungus, mould and decay – with plastic tiles these factors do not occur.

  • ✓

    Lower cost

Compared with ceramic, the cost of laying plastic tiles is cheaper even when battens need to be fitted.

  • ✓

Resistant to steam, moisture, temperature fluctuation

In wet rooms the covering is continuously exposed to extreme temperature effects, splashing water, hot fat – other coverings (wallpaper, decorative plaster, paint) may deform under these conditions, plastic tiles do not.

  • ✓

    Large colour and texture range

  • ✓

    Fire-safe

Its melting point is very high, difficult to burn.

  • ✓

    Easy to install, extend, dismantle

Lightweight and easy to cut. Fixing the slats to the frame does not require levelling the subfloor, which with other coverings involves significant labour costs and a lot of dust.

Caring for plastic tiles

Care

Keeping plastic tiles clean and cared for is very simple. Dust does not build up on them at all, and they do not go mouldy. The grout also stays clean easily, because it is part of the material itself. Light surface soiling can be removed easily even with a cloth dipped in warm water, but you can also use a sponge or a soft flannel cloth with a little detergent.

Stubborn grease and stains can also be removed easily with liquid gels. What we do not recommend is using cleaning powder or a scouring pad, since their abrasive components can leave scratches on the surface. After finishing cleaning, simply rinse thoroughly with clean water to remove any chemical residue, and wipe the surface dry.
